West Branch to face North Linn in the first round of the 2019 playoffs
The IHSAA made their announcement early Saturday morning.

After winning the Class 1A District 4 championship with a victory over Cascade in week 8, the Bears knew they had secured a playoff spot, and that it would likely be at the Little Rose Bowl, but they did not know who they would play. The Iowa High School Athletic Assocation has now cleared that up by releasing their 2019 Playoffs brackets after the conclusion of week 9.
In the first round of the 2019 IHSAA Playoffs, West Branch will take on North Linn. The Lynx, an at-large team out of District 6, finished their regular season campaign with an overall record of 7-2 (3-2 in district play) and ranked #13 in the IHSAA RPI rankings. District 6 is also called home by two other playoff teams: Dike-New Hartford (district champion) and Regina.
West Branch's game against North Linn will take place Friday night at the Little Rose Bowl with a 7pm kickoff. If you can't make it, be sure to tune in to the BearCast, going live at 6:30pm.
The winner of Friday's game would move on to play the winner of Regina/Mediapolis. Check out the full playoff brackets.
