Game Preview: West Branch vs Louisa-Muscatine

Veterans Appreciation Night to help kickoff District play

September 16, 2021 — 7:00am CDT

Location: Little Rose Bowl

Date: September 17, 2021

Time: 7:00pm CDT

Game Notes

LOUISA-MUSCATINE is a very young team. Of the 96 touches on offense, only 20 have been credited to a current senior. Four different players have thrown a pass, Eight have run the ball. QB Bryar Runnells and RB Kendall Pugh are the key figures thus far for the Falcons. The team from Letts has size up front. Spencer Kessel (6'2, 235) and Shad Fordyce (6'2, 300) pose a threat. L-M hope to flip the script a bit in their district opener in hopes of getting off on the right foot for postseason consideration.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Pugh. He is the leading rusher and tackler. I am sure his name will be called often.

WEST BRANCH scored on the opening kickoff and never looked back, winning very soundly on the road last Friday (52-0). WR Peyton Miller scored 4x - the first four TD he has recorded as a varsity player. Andy Henson topped the 200 yard mark rushing for the first time in his career. LB Bryce Hunger continued his growth, creating a fumble and hauling in his first reception at TE. Wyatt Fiderlein scored 16 points via XP, FG, and a rushing TD.

QUOTABLE: “The season starts over now. We want to get off on the right foot to keep moving toward the playoffs. One week at time, though." - Coach Butch Pedersen
