Game Preview: West Branch vs Lisbon
Bears and Lions to play for first time in 6 years

Location: Lisbon High School
Date: August 27, 2021
Time: 7:00pm CDT
Game Notes
LISBON enters this season with very high hopes to make a long postseason run. They return a vast majority of their offensive firepower - including (6) players who rushed for at least 120 yards. The Lions want to impose their will on you at the line of scrimmage. Jamien Moore (814 yards) and Kaden Caspers (610 yards) are the spearheads that want to bludgeon opponents with physicality. QB Gavin Wollum returns from an injury that held him out for the majority of the 2020 season. In his place, Caden Kamaus was very effective.
KEEP AN EYE ON: Moore. He is the leading returning rusher, tackler, and kickoff return man.
WEST BRANCH will rely on the leadership of its very thin junior and senior classes. What they lack in numbers, they will more than make up for in speed and power. RB Andy Henson looks to build upon a strong sophomore season that saw him rush for nearly 900 yards. Taking over under center is WR turned QB Carver Boelk. A year ago, he was the Bears' big play WR; at QB, he will have the distinct knowledge of where would-be ball catchers should be. OT/DT Drake Berry will play a very big role as well. OL/DL Logan Wright and senior WR/DB Peyton Miller are some of the additional keys if West Branch wants to ignite a victorious campaign.
QUOTABLE: “I think people are going to doubt us this year. We have worked very hard in the offseason to prepare for this season. We are a family and I think that is key." – Senior Captain Peyton Miller
